Seven North Texas Players Earn NFCA Academic Honors
Student-Athletes Must Maintain A 3.5 GPA or Higher To Earn The Award
Seven North Texas softball players were awarded The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Scholar Award for the 2015-2016 season.
In order to make the list, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
The athletes who received the award were: Makenzi Dawson, Jessica Elder, Harley Perella, Kelli Schkade, Bailey Thompson, Lauren Miller and Karly Williams.
The award is recognized by the NCAA (Div. I-III), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and junior colleges, as well at the high school level. In total, 5,152 softball players earned Easton / NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2015-16 season. Division I led the way with 1,240 athletes making the list.
