Tracey Kee Resigns as Mean Green Softball Coach
Posted 122-144 Record In Five Seasons At North Texas
DENTON - University of North Texas Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker announced Wednesday that Tracey Kee has resigned as the head coach of the Mean Green softball program.
"I want to thank coach Kee for the hard work and dedication that she and her staff have poured into this program,” Baker said. “She worked tirelessly to help develop the student-athletes in her program and we are appreciative of her service.”
In 21 years as a head coach, Kee has a career record of 804-506-1, including a 122-144 record in five years at North Texas.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given to work with the University of North Texas and its athletic department,” Kee said. “My years here have been full of great memories. I cannot thank my staff, my student-athletes and those associated with the program enough for their dedication and hard work.”
A national search for Kee's replacement will begin immediately.
"I believe with the depth of quality recruits available in the North Texas region and the resources we are investing into this program we can compete for conference championships,” Baker said “There won’t be any shortage of qualified coaches interested in this position and we expect to hire someone who will build on the foundation that has been established.”
