DENTON, Texas - Following her dramatic walk-off grand slam in the final home game of her decorated career, senior star Brooke Foster earned her second Conference USA Player of the Week award in the 2014 season.

"I do not think anyone could have scripted a better final at-bat at home than what Brooke Foster had," head coach Tracey Kee said. "I am extremely happy for her, and I just hope this will be the boost of confidence she needs going into the conference tournament."

The highlight-reel play came with one out and the Mean Green down by one run in the bottom of the seventh inning with the series on the line. Following a loading of the bases by the bottom of the order, Foster approached home plate and sent a first-pitch rocket over the left-field wall to give North Texas the climactic victory.

"I told myself to not swing at the first pitch because it is a crucial situation down one, and I knew I needed a deep fly ball or hard ball through the infield," Foster said. "I was literally just going to try and hit the ball as hard as I could. I don't remember where the pitch was or anything, I just swung and knew it was gone right when I hit it."

Foster scored three runs and tallied a pair of home runs in the weekend series win over No. 18 Tulsa, which was the Golden Hurricane's first C-USA series loss of the season. The win also secured a program-best 30 victories on the season.

The Mean Green now heads to Boca Raton, Fla., for a meeting with Florida Atlantic in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament. First pitch is at 5:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, May 8.
