Softball Finishes Sun Belt Play This Weekend
The North Texas softball team hosts its final Sun Belt Conference series this weekend when it faces ULM at Lovelace Stadium.
DENTON, Texas (4/26/13) - The North Texas softball team hosts its final Sun Belt Conference series this weekend when it faces ULM at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green plays the Warhawks on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
North Texas has just one remaining Sun Belt Conference series this season; a three-game home series against ULM this weekend. This will be the last regular season Sun Belt games that the Mean Green will play. North Texas heads to Conference USA next year.
ULM is eighth in the Sun Belt with a 3-14 record. North Texas currently stands in fifth place and has the opportunity to move up to fourth if it sweeps ULM and FIU loses to WKU.
Seniors Brittany Simmons and Lesley Hirsch will both play in their final weekend home games. The duo have won 101 games over the course of their four-year careers and have the best winning percentage of any four-year group.
