Softball To Face #17 Oklahoma Wednesday Night On FOX Sports

Coach Kee has NT softball sitting two wins short of 30 victories, which would be a program-best mark.

DENTON, Texas - North Texas softball looks to continue its record-setting season on the road in Norman against the 17th-ranked defending national champion Sooners. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

TV UPDATE: The game will air live nationally on FOX College Sports-Central. And for those who do not subscribe to FOX College Sports, the game will air on tape delay on FOX Sports Southwest at 2 a.m. Thursday morning in the DFW market.

With her performance against UT Arlington, senior pitcher Ashley Kirk put a couple more major pitching records to rest as she notched her 20th victory in the win over the Mavericks. This placed her in sole leadership of the single-season win record.

She also tacked on 12 strikeouts in the win, two shy of her career high, which placed her at the top of the single-season strikeout list with 188 K's and counting.

In her first season at the helm, head coach Tracey Kee has positioned her program to make noise in its first season in Conference USA. Sitting in sole possession of second place, the Mean Green will look to win its first championiship in program history with six league games left before the conference tournament begins on May 10 in Boca Raton, Fla.
