North Texas will play Oklahoma State for a second time this season on Wednesday. The Cowgirls shutout the Mean Green, 8-0, on Feb. 15 in the Lovelace Invitational in Denton. Simone Freeman pitched a four-hit shutout against the Mean Green. OSU leads the overall series, 9-3. The Cowgirls have won their last 12 games and are 19-12 this season.

Brooke Foster continues her hot play, hitting .625 in the three-game conference series against Troy. She went 5-for-8 with two doubles and a home run. She was also intentionally walked twice in her final two at-bats. She leads the team with a .346 hitting percentage, 28 hits, a .568 slugging percentage and seven doubles.

Taylor Schoblocher made her at-bats count. She went 3-for-5 in the three-game series. All three hits were home runs. She posted her first home run as a pinch hitter, capping the Mean Green’s seven-run sixth inning with a three-run homer. The freshman hit the first pitch she saw over the left-field fence. She went 2-for-3 in a start at catcher in the third game of the series. She hit a two-run homer in the third inning to left field, and then ended
the game on a run-rule with a solo shot in the fifth.

Karly Williams accomplished a feat against Troy that hasn’t been done by a Mean Green player in eight years. The freshman hit an in-the-park homer at Lovelace Stadium in the 10-2 win against Troy. She hit a ball that hit the top of the centerfield fence and bounced back into the field. Williams was able to beat the throw home.

Stephanie Cranmer is the only other Mean Green player to record an in-the-park homer. Cranmer did it twice during the 2005 season at Denia Park, so Williams is the first Mean Green player to hit
an in the parker at Lovelace Stadium.
