Mean Green Softball Hosts Troy This Weekend

DENTON, Texas (3/15/13) - The North Texas softball team hosts Troy this weekend in a three-game conference series. The Mean Green starts play with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

North Texas (12-11, 1-1) continues its two-week homestand with a three-game conference series against Troy. The Mean Green is tied in the overall series versus the Trojans at 13-13. North Texas has won the last four games, including the sweep last season on the road. Troy (11-16, 1-1) is also 1-1 in the conference, splitting a series with Middle Tennessee.

Brooke Foster led the offense against FIU, posting three hits for a .429 batting average. She posted a double and an RBI single in the doubleheader. Now playing second base, Foster is second on the team with a .315 batting average and five doubles. She leads the team with 23 hits.

Dani Hoff recorded just one hit last weekend but it was a double. The sophomore leads the team with six doubles. She is fourth on the team with a .306 average and is tied for second with 19 hits. The season record is 16, and she would need 11 total to move into the top five.
