Hoff Weekend Stats
DENTON, Texas - Junior first baseman Dani Hoff was named the Madness C-USA Player of the Week by online publication CollegeSportsMadness.com, a website that covers all aspects of college sports from recruiting through the professional draft.
"This kid is an absolute hitter," head coach Tracey Kee said. "Her offensive abilities never cease to amaze me. Never before have I penciled in such a clutch hitter in that three spot."
Hoff batted .467 on the weekend knocking in a team-high 10 RBI. She also laced two doubles, pushing her season total up to eight, a team-high mark.
"I think our whole team has been working really hard on our hitting all season," Hoff said. "Our coaches do a really good job of preparing us for the specific pitcher we are going to face and the types of pitches we are likely to see."
The Garland native also showed her power during the Texas Shootout with a pair two-run home runs and a slugging percentage of .1000.
"Dani is a true competitor, a smart hitter, and an unselfish teammate," coach Kee continued. "Right now, she's playing the game with energy, a laser focus and a looseness all coaches love to see. I am so happy to see her hard work pay off, and I have no doubt she will continue the process needed to help her team move to higher levels this season."
Hoff and the rest of the 12-3 Mean Green return to the field on Saturday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m. for a meeting with Wichita State at 2:30 p.m. in the Best Western/Courtyard Classic at Lovelace Stadium.
