Softball Postpones Doubleheader With Texas Southern
Games Moved To March 28
DENTON - Due to the threat of inclement weather, the North Texas softball team has postponed Tuesday's doubleheader with Texas Southern. The Mean Green will host the Tigers on March 28 at 3 and 5 p.m. CT.
With the postponement, North Texas' home opener will be against Creighton at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the first day of the Schutt Invitational. The tournament field also includes Prairie View A&M and Grambling.
North Texas is 4-5 all-time against Creighton and has won all three meetings with PVAMU. The Mean Green have never faced Grambling in program history.
The Mean Green are coming off a 2-2 performance at the Elon Softball Classic in Elon, N.C. After splitting Friday’s games against Bowling Green and Rhode Island, North Texas rode Maria Priest’s complete game to a 6-2 win over Mount St. Mary’s. The team wrapped up the weekend with a 6-1 loss to host Elon on Sunday, mustering up just two hits, including Katie Clark’s first career homerun.
