#MGSB Opens Up Season Against James Madison At Red & Black Showcase
Feb. 5, 2014
DENTON, Texas - The 2014 North Texas softball team will begin its first campaign under the command of new head coach Tracey Kee at the Red and Black Showcase, a tournament hosted by the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, Ga.
Senior outfielder Jackie Miller is no stranger to the state being from Woodstock, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.
Due to the proximity of the tournament, Miller will enjoy a nice family and friends turnout as the Mean Green looks to make noise early in the season when it gets an opportunity to play a 23rd-ranked Georgia squad along with James Madison and Winthrop as the bookends.
Miller enters her final year after hitting .252 during her junior season. She has 46 career hits and has blasted eight career home runs, seven of which came last season.
Gametracker for every tournament game will be available on Georgia’s official tournament page, which is located here: http://www.georgiadogs.com/sports/w-softbl/spec-rel/2014-softball-home-tournaments.html
Audio broadcast for the Mean Green’s two games with Georgia will also be available to listeners at no charge, and can be found here: www.georgiadogs.com
North Texas’ first game of the season will be against James Madison on Friday, Jan. 7, at 9 a.m. CST. The Mean Green follows that with a tilt against No. 23 Georgia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
