Softball Faces No. 6 OU On The Road Tonight

DENTON, Texas (4/18/12) - The Mean Green softball team travels to Norman, Okla. to complete its home and away series with the Sooners on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

North Texas (19-21) is 0-20 against OU all-time and is 0-9 this season against nationally-ranked teams. The Soooners are 35-6 this season and ranked No. 6 in the NFCA/USA Top 25 Poll. North Texas lost to OU, ranked 8th at the time, 4-1, at home on February 29. 

The Mean Green is 0-9 this year against nationally-ranked teams. North Texas has lost to No. 11 Oklahoma State, No. 20 Houston, No. 9 Baylor (three times) and No. 8 Oklahoma in 2012. NT was also swept by No. 11 ULL.

Maddelyn Fraley was named Sun Belt Conference player of the week for her performance this past week. The recognition is the first for Fraley and the third for the North Texas softball team this season. The three weekly honors is the most recognition that North Texas has received from the Sun Belt during a single-season. Fraley led the Mean Green to two wins last week with a .647 hitting percentage and seven RBI. She went 11-for-17 with two doubles and a home run. She hit safely in all five games last week and has a current seven-game hitting streak.
