Soccer Adds Wilder As Assistant Coach

DENTON, Texas- John Hedlund announced the addition of Shea Wilder as an assistant coach to the North Texas soccer staff. Wilder is in his 23rd year of coaching in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League. He has been the coach for the D'Feeters '95 since 2008.

Wilder has to developed and trained some of the best players to come through the north Texas area.   At the club level, Wilder helped in the development of Kristi Eveland and Sarah Huffman, who both play for the Washington Freedom of the WPS. Eveland was an Academic All-American and three-time NCAA Champion at North Carolina after playing for Wilder, while Huffman is a current member of the US Women's National Team after being twice selected as an All-American at Virginia.

Wilder has won ten State Championships and six Regional Championships at the club level, and tournament titles which including the inaugural Dallas Cup and the Disney Showcase. Prior to coaching with D'Feeters, Wilder coached the Sting '88 club, which saw every player earn a college scholarship.

As a player, Wilder played for the Dallas Rockets of the USISL, as a part of a playing career that stretched until 2004.

Wilder has a USSF "A" Coaching License. He lives in North Dallas with his wife, Cindy, and daughter Josephine.
