James, Nolan Named To Conference's All-Academic Team

IRVING — North Texas sophomore defender Dominique James followed up her first-team all-conference honor on Tuesday with a Conference USA first-team all-academic honor on Thursday.

James is a business major in the university’s College of Business and boasts a 3.909 grade point average. The Fort Worth native has also been a key contributor on the field for the Mean Green. James has started all 19 games for North Texas and been part of the Mean Green backline that has allowed the conference’s fewest goals.

James wasn’t alone in North Texas’ all-academic honors. Junior Aaliyah Nolan was named to the second-team. North Texas’ starting forward has a 3.741 G.P.A. and is a kinesiology major. 

Nolan was named second-team all-conference on Tuesday. 

James and Nolan will be back in action on Friday at 12:30 p.m. CT from Boca Raton, Florida. North Texas takes on Florida Atlantic in the semifinals of the C-USA Championship. The match will be live streamed on C-USA.tv.
