The North Texas soccer team has already captured the Conference USA regular-season title, but the Mean Green still has a lot on the line for tonight's road game against Louisiana Tech.

To stay in a good position for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, North Texas needs to hold steady with its No. 46 RPI ranking. A loss to Louisiana Tech would drop the Mean Green down.

With a win, North Texas would also set a school record for wins in a season with 17. The Mean Green soccer program has posted 21 winning seasons but none of them have gone higher than 16 victories in a single season. With a victory, North Texas could also stay undefeated in conference play, setting another school record. No Mean Green team has gone through conference play without a loss.

North Texas currently holds an eight-game win streak. A win would extend that to nine games, tying a school record. The Mean Green begins play in the conference tournament on Wednesday. A win would keep the momentum going into the tournament.

The Mean Green is also getting attention on the national scene. North Texas is receiving votes in the NSCAA national poll for the fifth straight week. As a team, North Texas is nationally ranked first in save percentage, sixth in goals against average and fifth in shutout percentage and win-lost-tied percentage.

Individually, Jackie Kerestine is ranked first in save percentage, sixth in GAA and 26th in total saves. Rachel Holden and Karla Pineda are ranked 15th nationally in game-winning goals with five apiece.
