And The Winners Are...

MOBILE, Ala. - The Sun Belt Conference released its all-conference first and second team selections, and the Mean Green posted four players on the prestigious squad with three on the first team and one on the second team.

Senior forward Michelle Young, junior defender Kelsey Hodges, freshman midfielder Karla Pineda and senior midfielder Carly McDowell headlined the 2012 SBC First and Second Team All-Conference crew for the Mean Green.

Young and Hodges both repeated as first teamers after phenomenal years leading the offense and defense respectively. This is Young's third time to be named to a SBC All-Conference team after being named a second teamer in 2009 and a firster last season. Hodges scored seven goals and was a force on a defense that allowed only 20 goals and limited opponents to 182 shots.

Pineda made the first team as a midfielder after an impressive freshman campaign that included seven goals, 21 points and a SBC offensive player of the week award on Oct. 9.

Veteran midfielder Carly McDowell earned her first all-conference selection on the second team after a season of leading the midfield, setting up the offensive attack and all-around remarkable play.
