DENTON, Texas – Vanessa Ibewuike posted a goal and two assists to help the North Texas soccer team top Tulsa, 4-1, and move into sole possession of second place in the Conference USA West Division standings, which earned the senior C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The Mean Green (10-5-1, 4-2-1 C-USA) offense has come alive over the last few weeks, and Ibewuike is at the heart of that revival. She is tied for second on the team with 15 points on the year, and has three goals in league play for North Texas.

With three regular season games to play, North Texas has dominated the conference’s weekly honors in 2013. NT’s five Player of the Week nods are two more than any other team, and two more than any previous North Texas team has ever won in a given season.
