DENTON -- The Mean Green soccer team is hosting their Breast Cancer Awareness game on Friday, Oct. 21, when North Texas plays Charlotte at 7 p.m.
For Rachel Holden, Chelsei Soto, Dominique James and Stefanie Grba, the significance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month hits close to home. All four players have family members who have had breast cancer.
Wearing pink means something different for each one of them.
The soccer team is partnering with the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at North Texas, which has have pledged to raise $1 for every fan that is in attendance at Friday's game.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual worldwide health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to help raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
