Soccer Heads To Florida For Two Conference Games

Jackie Kerestine has allowed just one goal in conference play

BOCA RATON, FL – The North Texas soccer team looks to continue its unbeaten streak in conference play with two road games in the Sunshine State.

The Mean Green plays Florida Atlantic on Friday night and FIU on Sunday afternoon. North Texas is a combined 20-3-2 against the two teams, and defeated FIU, 4-1, in last year’s conference tournament.

With its tie against Rice, North Texas (4-0-1) remained in first place in the conference standings with 13 points. Charlotte moved into second place with 12 points, and Rice is tied for third with 10 points.

North Texas is receiving national attention. The Mean Green is receiving votes in the NSCAA/Continental Tire National Poll for the fourth time this season and the second straight week.

The Mean Green is also ranked in the top 10 nationally in goals against average, save percentage and shutout percentage.

Jackie Kerestine recorded a career-high 11 saves against Rice. The 11 saves also ties for the fifth most in school history. Kerestine has allowed just one goal in conference play (vs. Rice).
