Kerestine Awarded Fifth C-USA Weekly Honor
Senior Posts Two More Shutouts In Conference Play
DENTON - For the fifth time this season, North Texas redshirt senior Jackie Kerestine was named Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Mean Green goalkeeper has won the award five of out of the first eight weeks of the season.
Kerestine picked up her ninth and 10th shutouts of the season with a pair of clean sheets on the road against C-USA opponents. The senior made eight saves, her second-highest total of the season, in a 1-0 overtime win against Charlotte. Kerestine followed up that performance with a six-save effort against Old Dominion on Sunday.
For the year, she has given up just six goals in 15 matches, leading the league in goals-against average (0.39, 5th NCAA), save percentage (.925, 2nd NCAA) and shutouts (10).
With her 10th shutout on Sunday, Kerestine moved into a tie for second place in the record books for shutouts in a single season. She set the record last year with 14 shutouts.
North Texas returns to action this weekend when it faces Middle Tennessee and UAB at home.
