DENTON, Tex. (10/4/05) For the second time this year, North Texas sophomore forward Heather Hutyra has been named the Sun Belt Conference Soccer Player of the Week. Hutyra had two goals, two assists, and six points in the two North Texas wins over Troy and South Alabama.
Hutyra had the game-tying goal against South Alabama along with firing eight shots in the win. Against Troy, Hutyra scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal. She had 13 shots for the week.
Hutyra continues to be ranked nationally in goals, goals per game, and points per game. She is seventh in the nation in goals with 11 and goals per game with 1.10. Hutyra is ninth in points per game at 2.50.
North Texas returns to action on Friday on the road against Louisiana-Lafayette.
