Kerestine Named C-USA Goalkeeper Of The Week

DENTON - For the third straight week, North Texas redshirt senior Jackie Kerestine was named Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week. The Mean Green goalkeeper has won the award four of out of the first five weeks of the season.

Kerestine picked up her fourth consecutive shutout with a three-save effort against Oral Roberts last Friday. The senior then notched a career-high 15 saves in a double-overtime loss at No. 5 Texas A&M on Sunday. Kerestine's save total was the second highest in program history.

For the season, the Euless, Texas, native is second in the conference in goals-against average (0.49). (2nd, C-USA). Kerestine leads the league in save percentage (.904), saves (47) and shutouts (6).

Nationally, Kerestine is ranked ninth in save percentage and 23rd in GAA. 

North Texas (8-2) returns to action this weekend when it opens conference play at Marshall on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
