North Texas Ties With Grambling State 1-1

GRAMBLING, La. (9/17/06) The North Texas women’s soccer team, playing in its fifth game in nine days, tied Grambling State 1-1 from the Grambling Soccer Complex.

The Mean Green (4-2-2) fired the third most shots in school history, 39, but could only manage one goal in game.

“I think that playing in this many games caught up with us,” said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. “We just couldn’t put the ball in the net and really had tired legs”.

The Mean Green’s lone goal of the game came from freshman Kendall Juett, who notched her fourth of the season, off a feed from Kristen Campbell.

The 39 shots are the most by a North Texas team since the 2003 season.

North Texas is back in action on Friday, September 22 at Louisiana-Monroe in the conference opener as the Mean Green begin defense of its Sun Belt Conference crown.
