Kerestine Named C-USA Goalkeeper Of The Week

Sept. 14, 2015

DENTON - For the second week in a row, the North Texas soccer team posted two shutouts, and Jackie Kerestine was named Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week. The redshirt senior has won the award three of out of the first four weeks of the season.

Kerestine led the Mean Green to a pair of shutout victories to push the team to a league-best 7-1 mark. The senior needed just one save to preserve the 6-0 shutout against Lamar on Sept. 11. At nearby rival TCU on Sunday, Kerestine notched five saves, including four in the first half, to earn the clean sheet.

Kerestine has recorded three-straight individual shutouts and combined for four as the Mean Green defensive unit has not surrendered a goal in 374 minutes.

North Texas returns to action this weekend when it faces Oral Roberts at home on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. and then travels to College Station to play nationally-ranked Texas A&M.
