VIDEO: Mean Green Faces No. 15 Oklahoma Tonight

DENTON - The No. 15 Oklahoma soccer team visits North Texas tonight and the Sooners might be looking for some payback. Behind a hat trick by Rachel Holden, the Mean Green defeated Oklahoma last year, 5-0. An undefeated 2014 North Texas team is expecting a challenge when it faces the Sooners tonight at 7 pm. at the Mean Green Complex.

Overall, North Texas holds a 5-1 advantage in the series. Last time the Sooners were in Denton, North Texas handed them a 3-2 overtime loss. North Texas is looking for its first win over a ranked program since 2003. Overall, NT is 3-15 against ranked squads.

North Texas, which is receiving votes in the national poll, has started its season 5-0 for the third time in the last eight years. The Mean Green allowed one goal against Abilene Christian, ending its shutout streak, but still has four shutouts in the last five games. The 2007 team started the season 5-0, allowing four goals, while the 2012 team allowed two goals.

Jackie Kerestine is 5-0 this season with 15 total saves. With her shutout against Vanderbilt, she now has 21 career shutouts, one shy of tying the career record. She also has 36 career wins, two shy of moving into second place in career wins at North Texas.
