The North Texas soccer team plays its first Friday night game at home tonight against Lamar. With the majority of the team being from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the stands are usually full of family and friends.

Jackie Kerestine's family is known for bringing a lot of fan support. There can be up to 20 family members from the Kerestine clan supporting the senior goalkeeper. Many of those family members have North Texas ties as well.

Jackie's parents both went to North Texas. Her dad, Paul, grew up in Denton and played nose tackle for the football team from 1978-79. Paul's parents both attended North Texas. Jackie's aunt went to North Texas and a few cousins as well.

The family has had a lot to cheer about. The Mean Green is off to a 5-1 start. The fifth-year senior has posted three individual shutouts and one combined shutout already this season. Kerestine has received two Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week awards, including one this past week.

North Texas is 1-1 at home this season and 3-0 on the road. The Mean Green faces Lamar on Friday before traveling to Fort Worth to face TCU. The Mean Green lost, 1-0, to the Horned Frogs last year at home.
