Hedlund Goes For 200th Win Friday Against Baylor

DENTON, Texas (9/10/09) - North Texas head soccer coach John Hedlund will shoot for magical win number 200 tomorrow evening when the Mean Green host another Big 12 opponent in the Baylor Bears (3-0-2).

Only 31 active NCAA Division I soccer coaches have 200 or more victories. Hedlund has a career record of 199-77-14 and is in his 15th season at North Texas, the only coach the school has ever had.

The Mean Green enter this weekend riding a wave of momentum after beating Texas Tech 2-1 last weekend in overtime. It was the third straight victory over a Big 12 opponent over the past two seasons. North Texas is 2-4 all-time against Baylor, however the Mean Green went to Waco last year and shutout the Bears 2-0.

Following Friday's 7 p.m. game against Baylor the Mean Green will turn right around 14 hours later to play Prairie View A&M (0-4) Saturday at 11 a.m. It will be the inaugural meeting between the two schools.
