DENTON, Tex. (9/4/07) North Texas sophomore midfielder Kendall Juett was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in leading the Mean Green soccer team to wins over TWU and UTEP.
Juett scored two goals in the final seven minutes against UTEP to lead North Texas to a 4-3 win. She nailed a penalty kick with seven minutes remaining in the contest to put the Mean Green ahead of UTEP for good. Juett had five points in the game and six for the week. She notched her third multi-goal game of her career with the two goals against UTEP.
Juett also collected her sixth career game-winning goal with vaults her into the top 10 all-time at North Texas.
North Texas is 2-0 for the second straight season and can tie the best start in school history with two wins this weekend. The Mean Green faces Lamar on Friday night in Natchitoches, Louisiana and then Northwestern State on Sunday afternoon.
