Mean Green Soccer Celebrates USA's World Cup Championship

Like many sports fans, the North Texas women's soccer team was glued to the screen Sunday for the prime-time broadcast on network television of FIFA's Women's World Cup final match between two-time champ and 2012 Olympic gold-medalist United States, ranked No. 2 in the world, and 2011 World Cup winner Japan, ranked No. 4 in the world.

If you were cheering for the USA, the game didn't disappoint. The Americans jumped out to a 4-0 lead behind Carli Lloyd's hat trick, then added a second-half goal to hold off hard-charging Japan for a 5-2 victory, making the United States the only three-time winner in Women's World Cup history and sending Mean Green players into a state of ecstasy, as demonstrated by their thoughts on Twitter:
