DENTON - University of North Texas head women's soccer coach John Hedlund has announced that Michelle Lenard has been named an assistant coach.
"I think that she will be an outstanding addition to our coaching staff," Hedlund said. "She was a great player for us when she was here and she can bring those assets to us as a coach".
Lenard is a former four-year letter winner who had an outstanding career with North Texas from 1999-02.
Following her playing career Lenard was an assistant soccer coach at Texas Woman’s University in 2003. Lenard was also the Texas Arsenal Soccer Club Head Coach of the 90’ and 91’ team until joining North Texas.
She played semi-pro in Colorado for the Fort Collins Force for one season and she was the Youth Development Director for Triple Crown Sports.
During her playing career at North Texas , Lenard was named to the second team all-conference in 2001 and in 2002 she scored five goals, notched 11 points, and had two game-winning goals.
Michelle is a 2002 graduate of North Texas and is presently working on her master’s degree in kinesiology.
