North Texas Soccer Lands SEC Transfer

DENTON, Texas (5/14/09) Freshman forward Nikki Crocco, from the University of Arkansas and Dallas area standout, has made the decision to move closer to home and play for the North Texas women’s soccer team starting this fall.

“We’re excited to have Nikki join our program,” North Texas head coach John Hedlund said. “She will give us that needed burst of speed up front, which should really help open up our offense and create more goals throughout the season.”

The highly recruited forward out of South Lake Carroll high school was an all-state performer and helped lead her team to a 2008 5A state championship her senior year and was a finalist at the U.S. Youth National Championship with the Dallas Texans Red 90.

The North Texas soccer program will now have three players coming off that highly successful club team along with starting defender Shannon Gorrie and red-shirt freshman Casey Lerond.
