DENTON, Texas - A pair of North Texas soccer signees, Rebecca Gleason and Libby Murphy, have been selected to play in the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches All-Star Game in Temple on June 14.
Both student-athletes signed with the Mean Green in February, and will join the program as freshmen in the fall. North Texas is coming off a successful inaugural season in Conference USA, which was highlighted by a trip to the tournament finals.

Gleason, a standout defender at Lucas Lovejoy High School, is rated as a three-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com after All-District 21-4A first team nods in 2011 and 2012. On the club level, Gleason was coached by former Dallas Sidekicks legend, Tatu, at Dallas Sting ECNL. Prior to joining the Sting, Gleason was on the FC Dallas ECNL club, where she scored one goal in 13 games played with the U17 team.
An accomplished cross country runner, Gleason was a part of two Lovejoy state titles in 2010 and 2011, which included individual top 10 finishes for Gleason in the state meet.
Murphy has been a midfielder for Solar Chelsea Soccer Club ECNL since 2008 and was a three-sport athlete - soccer, cross country and basketball - at McKinney Boyd High School, where she earned All-District 10-5A honors in 2013. She has been selected to be a member of the North Texas '96 Region III State First Team every year since joining Solar.
As a freshman at McKinney Boyd, Murphy helped the team to a 5A state title in 2011. She was named to the National Elite Prep Showcase All-Tournament team, and had McKinney Boyd ranked as high as No. 7 in Texas according to StudenSports.com.
