DENTON -- Even in the offseason, North Texas goalkeeper Jackie Kerestine gets recognized for her play in the net. The Mean Green redshirt senior was named one of the top 10 goalkeepers in Division I women's soccer by this past week.

Kerestine was in some fine company. She was joined on the list by the top goalkeepers in the ACC, Big 12, Pac 12 and the Big East. The only other goalkeeper from the state of Texas to make the list was Abby Smith of Texas.

Kerestine, a redshirt senior goalkeeper, was named second-team all-conference in 2014 after leading C-USA in shutouts (14), goals against average (0.51) and save percentage (.902). Her GAA set a league single-season record. She was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week four times in 2014, and was the only player to receive weekly recognition from the conference more than two times.

Kerestine also set multiple records during her junior campaign, breaking Mean Green career marks in shutouts, saves and wins. She also broke the single-season school record for shutouts and GAA. Nationally, she was ranked in the top 20 throughout the season in GAA and save percentage.

The Mean Green soccer team recently concluded its spring season and brings back the majority of its squad for the upcoming 2015 season.
