DENTON – The North Texas soccer program added one more player to its 2017 recruiting class with the signing of Allison Anguiano, a local goalkeeper out of Lewisville.

“We are really happy to have Allison on board, and this now gives us four outstanding goalkeepers on our roster going into the fall,” North Texas head coach John Hedlund said. “Allison has great size, is very athletic and highly competitive, which are all great traits for a goalkeeper.”

Anguiano was named District 6-6A Goalkeeper of the Year as a junior at Lewisville High School after turning back 153 of 168 shots on goal in 2016. She was also named first-team all-district and team MVP.

As a sophomore, Anguiano was named first-team all-district and team MVP after making 201 saves and posting a .901 save percentage.

She plays club ball for D’Feeters ECNL.

She is a National Hispanic Merit Scholar, a National Honors Society member and treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta.

Anguiano is the 11th signee in Hedlund’s 2017 class. He has signed eight high-school players and three transfers from Power 5 schools, including two that are currently enrolled at North Texas.
