DENTON (3/24/06) - The North Texas women's soccer team opens its spring schedule this weekend when it competes in the Texas A&M 7v7 Tournament at College Station on Sunday, March 26.
The defending Sun Belt Champions has four dates on its spring schedule, including a home game on Tuesday, April 4 against the Chinese National Selection Team at the Mean Green Soccer Complex at 8 pm. The game is a doubleheader with the Texas Woman's soccer team and will be the first time that North Texas is playing on its new field on Bonnie Brae.
On Sunday, North Texas will face Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Houston Challenge and Stephen F. Austin in small-sided games, beginning at 10:30 am at College Station.
On Saturday, April 1, the Mean Green competes in the Sting College Showcase in Allen, Texas. NT will play Oklahoma at 10 am and then face UTEP at 3 pm.
North Texas will close out its spring season with a rematch against SMU on Saturday, April 22 in Dallas at 12 pm. The Mean Green lost to the Mustangs in the first round of the NCAA tournament last fall after defeating them during the regular season. NT returns all 11 starters from the 2005 team that won the Sun Belt Conference Championship for the second year in a row.
