DENTON - It was just one of those days for the Mean Green. North Texas could not find the back of the net despite hitting near, close and off the post of the goal. TCU was able to find the back of the net and the Horned Frogs went home with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at the Mean Green Soccer Complex.

"I feel a little snake bit right now," said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. "We had two go off the crossbar, one of the post and missed a penalty kick. I honestly feel we should have won this game 4-1 but we've been a little bit unlucky of late. I'm still really proud of my team's effort today against a good TCU team."

Both sides had six shots each in the first half, but North Texas came out firing in the second period. Kaylah Hunter hit a hard shot from right outside the penalty box that hit off the top of the crossbar for the Mean Green at the 53-minute mark. Lindsey Hulstein followed that up with a high shot that careened off the right post in the 56th minute.

On the other side of the field, TCU's Ryan Williams beat a Mean Green defender to put a cross in that was batted around by both teams. Williams intercepted a North Texas pass and slid one of her own to Kela Gray who slipped the ball past goalkeeper Jackie Kerestine for the eventual gamewinner at the 61-minute mark.

TCU goalkeeper Vittoria Arnold kept the Horned Frogs in the game with a save on a penalty kick in the 65th minute. Rachel Holden was held back by a TCU defender in the box and was awarded the penalty kick.

Marchelle Davis had one of the final attempts for the Mean Green with a shot in the 76th minute that hit off the post.
