Kerestine Ties Mean Green Career Shutout Record
HOUSTON - The Mean Green soccer team bounced back from an overtime loss on Friday with a 2-0 road victory against Houston Baptist on Sunday afternoon.
After falling to No. 15 Oklahoma in its previous game and losing its first match of the season, North Texas quickly returned to winning ways with its fifth shutout in seven games.
It took 68 minutes, but Marchelle Davis finally put North Texas on the scoreboard with a goal off an assist by Karla Pineda. Amber Haggerty followed with her first goal of the season at the 85-minute mark.
Jackie Kerestine earned the shutout and the victory in goal. With the shutout, she is now tied with Mandy Hall for the career shutout record at North Texas with 22.
The Mean Green held the edge in shots (23-12) and shots on goal (12-5).

North Texas returns home for two games against Gonzaga and TCU next weekend.
