DENTON -- For the first time this season, the Mean Green soccer team ended a match in a draw.

North Texas (4-2-1) fell 52 seconds shy of beating Indiana (4-3-1), but a late goal from the Hoosiers tied the match at three a piece, which would end up being the final score after the 20 minute overtime period.

Indiana, fresh off beating No. 23 SMU in Dallas, found itself in a hole at the 30-minute mark after Mean Green freshman Logan Bruffett scored her first goal of the season. Bruffett's goal came off an assist from fellow freshman Berklee Peters who now has 11 points on the season to lead the team and the conference.

Peters has recorded at least one point in the last three matches after having none in the first four.

The Hoosiers though took the lead right before halftime with a pair of goals in less than six minutes.

But North Texas, who trailed early on Friday, had another comeback in them.

In less than two minutes, the Mean Green reversed their one goal deficit and took a one-goal lead.

In the 72nd minute, freshman Brooke Lampe scored her second goal of the year off a cross from freshman Ariel Diaz. Then in the 74th minute, Diaz scored to give North Texas the lead.

The Mean Green defended well from then on out, but a small lapse gave Indiana an opportunity to tie in the 89th minute and they didn't miss.

North Texas has a week off before returning to the field. The Mean Green host FIU on Sunday Sept. 17 for their first conference game of the year.
