Hall's 19th Career Shutout Leads Mean Green Past Jacksonville State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – North Texas soccer defeated Jacksonville State 2-0 Sunday afternoon to finish the Hotel Encanto Aggie Classic and nab the program’s first 4-0 record since 2007.

The North Texas offense dominated play in the first half recording seven shots to JSU’s two, but Koenig had an answer for everything thrown her way as the team’s finished the first half scoreless.

Sophomore Ellen Scarfone opened the scoring for the Mean Green in the 69th minute when she sent a pass from Carly McDowell sailing past Gamecock goaltender Ali Koenig.

Alicia Reyes followed Scarfone’s lead three minutes later when she scored her first goal of her career.

Goal keeper Mandy Hall expanded her school record shutouts total to 19 with a two save performance.  The senior has now allowed just one goal through four appearances this season.

The Mean Green will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. when it travels Huntsville, Texas, to take on the Sam Houston State Bearkats.
