Prospective Student-Athlete Information - Women's Golf
Women's Golf Questionnaire
We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green women's golf. Head coach Jeff Mitchell has put the women's golf program on the map regionally and national in his seven seasons.
The women's golf team is coming off its second season in Conference USA, and recently notched its best conference tournament finish since 2011. Led by a youthful group, the Mean Green finished in fourth place at the C-USA Championship.
Freshman Abbi Shaddix, who finished tied for seventh place, posted the best finish in a conference championship by a freshman since Nina Reis in 1999. The seventh place finish is the best showing by an NT golfer at the conference championship since 2012. Eji Kwon finished tied for 14th place and finished the season with four top-15 finishes on the season.
The women's golf program is also home to some of the best facilities in the region. NT recently added new video technology to help personalize instruction and practices.
Quick Hits On North Texas
North Texas entered its first year as a member of Conference USA and showed that the Mean Green belonged to be there with two second-place team finishes and a bowl invitation. Individually, 50 Mean Green student-athletes were named all-conference during the 2013-14 school year, four Mean Green athletes received specialty conference awards, and a track athlete was named an All-American.

The Women's Golf Coaching Staff
Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
The Mean Green golf teams worked out at a new indoor practice facility in 2006. Located on Bonnie Brae Avenue across from the athletic center, the Mean Green Softball and Golf Facility houses indoor putting and driving areas. This facility allows athletes from the softball and golf programs to hone their skills in the comfort of a climate controlled indoor practice range. For golf, the facility houses two net enclosed driving ranges and a putting green with full length wall mounted mirrors to help coaches and athletes monitor swinging motion.
The North Texas golf teams practice on some of the finest golf courses in the area, including Oakmont Country Club, Tour 18, Lantana Golf Course, Robson Ranch, Trophy Club, Golf Club at Champions Circle and Bridlewood Country Club.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
