EDINBURG, Tex. (11/8/05) Senior’s Andra Lancaster and Jaclyn Golden fueled the North Texas women’s golf team to the Bronc Classic title with final rounds of 73 from the Los Lagos Golf Club.
North Texas won the Bronc Classic by 10 strokes over second place Texas State after a final round score of 301, to finish at 908 for the tournament.
“I’m really proud of the way the girls played in this tournament,” said North Texas head coach. “We came in feeling pretty good about our chances and the girls just came out and delivered”.
Lancaster closed out strong with a 2-under par 34 on the back nine holes and shot a three-round score of 223 to finish in the top 10.
Golden had a 1-over par 73 final round of play she finished third individually with a three-round score of 221.
Sophomore Halli Richards had a final round of 77 but was 1-under par 35 on the back nine holes to finish her third round.
Sophomore Lauren Cheves shot a third round score of 78 but had a top 10 finish with a three-round score of 227. Brooke Tanner had her best 18 holes of the tournament with a third round of 79.
North Texas closes out the fall season with its best finish and will now prepare for the spring season which begins on Feb. 20 at the Islanders Spring Classic.
