BASTROP, Tex. (11/5/07) The North Texas women’s golf team closed the fall schedule out with its best tournament of the season as the Mean Green finished sixth and Maggie Noel took home sixth place individually at the Challenge at Wolfdancer.
Noel posted her best tournament of the season with a three-round score of 227. She had back-to-back rounds of 2-over par 74 and tied her career-best finish by placing sixth.
Freshman Chandra Alexander had another solid outing with a top-20 finish. She posted a three-round score of 235 and finished in 20th place. Freshman Kirsten Spittler was just outside the top 25 as she finished in 26th place after a three-round score of 238. Halli Richards was one shot behind her at 239 and Jordan Rose shot a three round score of 241.
The Mean Green shot a three-round score of 934 to finish sixth in the deep field of 13 teams. North Texas was just one shot behind Illinois but was 10 shots better than Boston College and 45 shots ahead of UTEP.
North Texas is off for the rest of the fall season and resumes play on February 4-5 at the Baja Invitational.
