Mean Green To Tee Off Final Fall Tournament Friday
North Texas Sends Four To Battle At The Beach In Cabo San Lucas
CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico - The North Texas women's golf team is set to compete in its final tournament of the fall season beginning Friday at the Battle At The Beach, hosted by Baylor at the Club Campestre San Jose. The Mean Green brought four golfers to the tournament, who will be competing as individuals.
Junior Sol Lee, sophomores Lauren Cox and Elena Kim and senior Nyca Khaw will open the three-day event on Friday, Nov. 3, carrying through Sunday, Nov. 5. The four Mean Green golfers are slated to tee off in round one on Friday morning and fans can follow all of the action with live results here, courtesy of Birdiefire.
Through the first four tournaments of the season, North Texas is 14th in the nation in greens in regulation (.644), 14th in the country in fairways hit (.739), and 17th in the nation in eagles, with four.
The 54-hole event will open with the first round on Friday, round two on Saturday, and the third and final round on Sunday.
The four Mean Green golfers will compete against host Baylor, No. 38 Auburn, No. 22 Houston, Mississippi State, No. 24 North Carolina, No. 36 Ohio State, No. 31 Oklahoma, TCU, No. 13 Texas, Tulane, No. 1 UCLA, No. 25 Vanderbilt, No. 21 Virginia, and No. 20 Wake Forest. All rankings are from Golfstat’s most recent relative rankings poll.
