FORT MYERS, Fla. - Led by Chandra Alexander, the North Texas women's golf team has four players in the top-20 as they are alone in third place after the first round of the 33rd Pat Bradley Invitational.
Alexander shot a 1-under par 71, which ties her season-low, as she is in third place after 18 holes, just two shots off the lead.
The Mean Green as a team shot a 294 and is just three shots behind the clubhouse leader Western Michigan after the first round.
Alexander had perhaps the most consistent round of golf on the day as she posted a tournament leading 15 pars after 18 holes of play.
Addison Long is tied for 10th place after a 1-over par 73 to start her tournament. Kelsey Kipp and Chaslyn Chrismer are both in the top-20 after opening rounds of 75. The pair is tied for 18th place.
Taylor Kilponen is further back after she fired an 81 in the first round. North Texas is going after its third tournament win in the fall season.
The second round of the tournament from the Pelican Preserve and Country Club begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
