LAS VEGAS, Nev. - It was a difficult second round for the North Texas women's golf team at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The Mean Green shot a second round of 323 and sit with a 639 after two rounds of play, alone in 17th place after 36 holes.
Sophomore McKenzie Ralston, who was tied for 11th place after the opening round, shot a second round of 81 and fell into a tie for 41st place. Ralston was making a comeback in her round after shooting 7-over par on her first nine holes. She had two birdies on the front nine, but a quintuple bogey 9 on the eighth hole stopped her momentum. Ralston did bounce back on her final hole with a birdie.
Chaslyn Chrismer and Taylor Kilponen both bounced back from their opening rounds to shoot 77 and 78. Chrismer's round was the low score of the day for North Texas as she notched two birdies in the round. Kilponen likewise had two birdies on the day.
Freshman Keegan Moore had a second round of 87 and Georgina Mundy an 88. Ralston leads North Texas with a score of 155 after two rounds. UCF holds a two-shot lead as a team heading into the third-round.
