LAS CRUCES, N.M. - A final round surge by the North Texas women's golf team had the Mean Green climb to third place and place four golfers in the top-20 at the final round Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate.
North Texas shot an even-par round of 288 while Addison Long and McKenzie Ralston both shot under par in the third round finished in the top-10.
Long shot a season-low round of 2-under par 70 and she holed out for an eagle from 147 yards. Long finished tied for sixth place overall with an even-par score of 216. Ralson was 1-under for the day with a 71 as she moved into the top-10, finishing in a tie for ninth place at 2-over 218.
Jacey Chun had a third round of 3-over par 75 and finished in a tie for 13th place. Chaslyn Chrismer had her best round of the tournament at even-par 72 as she worked her way into the top-20 in a tie for 17th place. Kelsey Kipp shot a third-round of 4-over par 76 and ended in a tie for 40th place.
Baylor won the overall title but the Mean Green finished ahead of SMU, Mississippi State, Boise State, Cincinnati, UTEP, and Colorado State.
The Mean Green is back in action on Oct. 23-25 as they look to defend their title at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational.
