MANHATTAN, Kan. (10/10/05) Jaclyn Golden led the way for the North Texas women’s golf team at the first day of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational from Colbert Hills Country Club. Golden posted a two-round score of 154, which included a second round score of 4-over par 76 after an opening round of 78.
North Texas as a team rebounded in the second round with a score of 305, slicing 15 shots off the opening round score of 320.
Senior Andra Lancaster shot the best round of the day for North Texas in her second round with a 3-over par 75.
Lancaster recovered after a difficult first round of 82. Lauren Cheves is just one shot behind Golden after a two-round score of 155. Cheves fired a 77 in the first round and a 78 in the second round.
Tara Lambright fired a second round score of 76 and has a two-round score of 160 while Paige Padgett shot an 83 in the first round an a second round score of 86.
The final round of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
