DENTON, Texas - North Texas women's golf has its highest ranking in school history and now they have the highest ranked individual in school history. Jacey Chun is the No. 8 ranked golfer in the nation by Golweek.com after the first month of the season.
Chun finished in fifth place the opening tournament, the Texas A&M "Mo"morial. In that event she defeated three top-25 golfers, eight top-50 golfers, and 15 from the top-100.
She missed the Mean Green's second tournament in New Mexico as she was playing in the LPGA Stage II Qualifying school in Florida. Chun didn't advance to Stage III, but she did earn an exemption into the LPGA Futures Tour for 2012.
Chun is the highest ranked golfer in the Sun Belt, with the next closest being No. 70.
