Long Paces North Texas After Two Rounds Of Play

LUBBOCK, Texas (10/6/08) A difficult second round slowed the North Texas women’s golf team at the opening day of the Jeannie McHaney/Audrey Morehead Classic. The Mean Green fired an opening round of 315 at the lengthy Rawls Course but fell off the pace in the second round with a 326.  After the first two rounds of play North Texas is alone in 11th place.

Baylor holds the overall team lead after two rounds of play.

Freshman Addison Long continued her strong play through the early going as she posted back-to-back rounds of 79.  Janna Golden opened with a 79 and followed that up with an 82 in the second round. Junior Maggie Noel had a sensational opening round of 3-over par 76 but had a tough second round with an 86.

Halli Richards shot a first round of 81 and a second round of 82 while Jordan Rose bounced back from an opening round of 88 to shoot an 82. Kelsie Gray, playing as an individual posted a first round of 95 and a second round of 89.

The final round of the tournament begins tomorrow morning.
