Women's Golf Team Ready for Final Round in Las Cruces.

LAS CRUCES, N.M.- The Mean Green Women’s Golf Team sits in 13th place after two rounds of play at the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational in Las Cruces, NM.

The team had rounds of 313 and 315 and head coach Cindi Padgett says she is happy with the team as each golfer had at least one round under 80 in the first day of the tournament.

“I’m really pleased with where we are at because I thought the girls went out and played really hard,” said Padgett. “Tomorrow we are going to try and pick up some spots and improve as a team.”

The Mean Green was led by Lauren Cheves with rounds of 76 and 79 after two rounds of play. Tara Lambright sits just behind Cheves after first day scores of 80-79.

Paige Padgett shot a 79 in the early round followed by an 81 in the afternoon, and Jaclyn Golden had rounds of 78 and 81.

Andra Lancaster, who brought home a victory in the team’s last tournament, rebounded from a first round 84 to shoot a 76 in the second round.

The Mean Green will return to the course tomorrow for the tournament’s final round.
