Rose Paces North Texas At The Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. (10/1/07) Sophomore Jordan Rose shot an opening round of 2-over par 74 to lead the way for the shorthanded North Texas women’s golf team at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational. North Texas played with only four players after freshman Chandra Alexander withdrew in the first round.


The final round of the tournament was washed away by rain and the Mean Green finished in 11th place.  


Rose shot a second round of 79 and posted a two-round score of 153 and sits in a tie for 19th place.


Halli Richards struggled in the opening round with an 81 but rebounded to shoot a 2-over 74 in the second round. She is two shots behind Rose at 155. Maggie Noel carded scores of 84 and 78 while Janna Golden shot an 89 and second round of 84.


North Texas as a team opened with a 327 but cut 12 strokes off that score in the second round with a 315.
